I've had some kind of instrument in my hand for the last 40 years. I became interested in recording my own music 15 years ago and spent many a night playing live acoustic mandolin in Austin, TX. For the last 5 years, I've concentrated more on "Shoegaze"-like, effect driven sonic explorations. One can hear elements of psychedelia, free jazz, heavy rock and metal in most of my music. Though most of When Mountains Speak's music is solo, I do collaborate with Jim Gary and Ben Sands in a trio setting and collaborate with various other artists. My music is mostly improvisational and draws on my faith, life's journey and relationships. Thank you for your interest in my music, Steven.
